The Tetons are majestic and unforgettable

Tetons
The Tetons is the first national park I wanted to see. Last year when we were planning the Fall trip, I suggested we start in the Tetons. Donna looked at a map and said “No, we should start in Yellowstone”. The 2024 Fall tour Donna applied the same treatment, we decided to start at Glacier National Park. Yellowstone is a beautiful place that changed the way I think. Back to the Tetons: The mountains have a majestic feel for me. Looking at the mountain range from any vantage produces new aww-inspiring views. The mountain range is unique to me as the impact of glaciers is evident everywhere.
The Tetons have such a dramatic appearance due to their relationship with the fault that created them and the age/impact of landscape around them. The East side of the range (where the valley resides) has no hills approaching the mountains. The lack of hills leading up to the mountains gives a unique perspective adding to the dramatic effect of the mount peaks.
Cycling
Donna and I rode bicycles nearly every day while in the Tetons. Ride lengths ranging from 10 miles to 30+ miles. The bicycle gave us excellent access to many parts of the park. We visited the Teton lodge, Jackson Fish Hatchery, Oxbow point, Jackson Lake Dam, and many other locations.
We found amazing cookies at the Signal mountain “village”. Sadly we were only able to buy two cookies. We may have purchased the whole lot if they were available. Good news, the lodge has been making them for 30 years without a recipe change. We have the highest confidence the cookies will be available when we visit next year. Surprisingly, the cookie ingredients are eerily close to the cookies made for me by Donna. I suspect we may try to replicate.
