Mt. Rainer in perfect weather with the Airstream

Where we camped

hipcamp

We camped at a HipCamp. The site/property was located in a neighborhood just outside Mt. Rainer National Park. The properties description said “If you bring a RV, bring your back-up skills”. I agree, it was a tricky location to get the RV and truck into. It wasn’t hard, just tricky, lots to negotiate. The RV site had power, sewer, and water. Additionally a small “A-Frame” building was on site which had tenants when we pulled in. The “A-Frame” was a single small 10-8 foot room with a power outlet, the unit rented separate from the RV space. I had to use all the driveway space to get the Airstream into its spot, I think I made the A-Frame users nervous with how close I got my truck to their vehicle. Donna is always a huge help in communicating obstacles and directions via radio. No problems were had and no risk to us or other users of the property existed. We would have extended our stay, however starlink was not able to get a stable connection. Lack of connectivity had us spending the weekend then hustling to the next location so that our obligations to others could be fulfilled. hipcamp The Hideout/The Moose

Mt Rainer Entrance

Mt. Rainer like many National Parks had early settlers and entrepreneurs that utilized the natural resources to lure visitors. Touring the original hot springs was interesting and it was fun to think about the work that went into creating a tourist destination.
