We have family that lives in La Center. We had planned for a while to swing by and moochDock. Mooche docking is the best part of staying with family, we get to use their services without being in the way.
A couple of my favourite things (espresso, BBQ) are not readily accessible on the road. Donna and I had planned ahead to acquire and make BBQ for family. Hands down my favorite smoked meat is turkey, sure brisket, pork, ribs are wonderful, however I always enjoy a turkey when brined and smoked.

What we smoked:
I didn’t take many pictures of meat prep or smoking. Trust us it was good. I am constantly amazed at the bark produced on brisket by simply using salt and pepper. I madea fun leek and potato dish, I was craving vichyssoise and decided to make a hasselback rendition of leeks, cream, cheese to go with our brisket. I thought it was yummy, however I would make some changes if I were to make the same thing again.

Cook the hassleback in oven first with clarified butter, then smoother with leek puree.

The Dogs
Penelope and Doowee were having a great time, much bitey face time and playtime with their cousin. Both dogs enjoyed the open space, grass, and hay. Many walks were taken around the neighborhood which meant that cow, lambs, chickens, snakes, and rabbits were all inspected from relatively safe distances.
