Zion
Zion
This was our first stay in Springdale, we have been to the city and Zion National Park a few times. In the past we stayed at Kolob reservoir.
Coffee
I had three good enough espressos while in Springdale, seems a coffee shop exists on every corner. The espresso I enjoyed the most was at Canyon Coffee. Deep Creek Coffee was tasty and I would go back to either place. I could have made a whole week out of trying coffee in the town, sadly, some of my own bias (of equipment) keeps me from trying some self proclaimed masters.
Hiking/Walking
Dogs are allowed on the Pairus trail. We walked it twice and were able to stroll along the Virgin river. We also hiked the Emerald pools hike. I would like to do a few more hikes. The tram that traverses the scenic drive is convenient. We walked from our campground to catch the tram, it does get busy as the service closes for the night, catching the last tram will likely be standing room only. We also hiked outside the park with the dogs. On the outside of Springdale, we parked at George Barker River Park and hiked the service roads. Hiking service roads with the puppies was enjoyable.
Cycling
Donna and I rode the scenic drive multiple times. The tram/bus service requires that cyclists yield to them. The yield process is strange but easy to get used to. As a cyclist you must pull over and stop for a bus that is approaching from behind. I understand and support the yield method, just noting it’s strange. The amount of electric bikes is enormous and the skill level of cyclists on the road is low. I am glad that normal vehicle traffic is not present (except lodge guests and trams). The rides are picturesque and worth the short loop (~7 miles one way).
Humans are weird
This statue is made of bronze, evidently people like to touch the nipples.
