Passing through Utah
Hustling through states
We have a timeline, which means we have stops to make and miles to cover. Leaving Southern Utah we hit the road early. We had a bit of a dip after stopping in Beaver at The Creamery one of the Solar Shields failed on Olive.
Solar Shield failure
A Dzus Fastner failed, allowing the shield to catch the wind and yank open. When this happens it bends the frame of the shield, destroying the shield and leaving a crease on the side of the trailer where the shield has interference with the exterior skin. We were alerted to the failure by a fellow road user. As a general rule, when towing anything, if somebody is honking at you, pull over immediately.
We quickly called Airstream of Utah (Salt Lake City) to inquire about purchasing a new shield. They had one in stock, we were about 3 hours away. Everything worked out perfect, the team at airstream was easy to work with, they had the parts waiting for us as we arrived(near closing). Huge thanks to the team for keeping parts in stock and being easy to work with.
Coffee
Last year when passing through Ogden we stopped at Wasatch Roasting. I enjoyed their coffee and I was excited to stop here again. The beans did not disappoint. Of course we will continue our quest for great coffee as we travel, I am glad I have many great coffee beans to choose from. My next known good beans are in Telluride.

Notes
We stayed at a harvest host in Willard, UT. The hosts were great, had a large property with many goats and horses. The walking across the farm was nice. The only downside wa the flies and mosquitoes. The mosquitoes were able to penetrate clothing and were thick, it took a full day to rid the trailer of flying pests. In the future I will be more midful of where flies congregate and how they may impact us. Donna did purchase ZEVO flying insect traps which seem to be doing well. We purchased a book, eggs, and goat’s milk soap from the hosts.
