Arches National Park
Portals RV resort.
We stayed at Portal RV Resort. In general we liked it. The location was great. If you book here make sure you read the rules and verify you can abide by them. Although they had nice amenities we did not use them. The reviews online seemed to have negativity about the facility due to people not able to interpret the rules.
Arches National Park
We traveled to Moab from Mesa Verde National Park. We traveled the 191 to the 491, the road was smooth and the travel was easy. Many great views along the way. The Utah geology is impressive at every corner. The mighty five are here, which you should visit any and all of them.
I have a few favorite features in Arches, balancing rock, fiery furnace, and park avenue.

Cycling
Arches is a great park to ride road bikes in. Moab is also very close, One of the things Moab is know for is mountain biking. Bicycle culture is nearly as strong as the 4x4 movement. Nearly every vehicle has bicycles or a bike rack attached. Also most of the vehicles are 4x4 and covered in Moab dust. Clearly the outdoors is getting enjoyed by all here. The cycling was awesome, Donna and I stayed right on the main bike path and I rode its full length plus spent some time in Arches National Park. While in Mesa Verde I meet other Airstreamers that were also cyclists, we were able to meet up in Moab and ride a fun route that included the Park Avenue vista.
Utah
Donna feels that we should make a trip that is just Utah state parks. The state has much to offer, outside the mighty five, state parks are abundant with many features worth seeing. Every Utah state park we have visited has been stunning. Past performance doesn’t guarantee future returns, I have zero doubts that we would be disappointed
