I love BBQ

Snow’s BBQ

BBQ Pretty much if it’s cooked with fire I like it. I am always impressed the flavors that we can impart with flame. 780,000 years of cooking things with fire, I think we are finally getting the hang of it.

My plate of food

In my opinon BBQ is a food type that travels well. Often BBQ will be good day One and day Four, when I go to BBQ destinations, I will always over order. I know I can take the food with me and enjoy for many days.

The “pit”

Lexington, Texas. Snow’s

Donna and I planned our trip back through Texas, mainly so that we could stop at Snow’s. If you don’t know, Snow’s has been labeled the #1 BBQ in Texas. Snow’s has a fun story and was featured on the Netflix series Chefs Table BBQ

We booked a spot to park the Airestream and arrived the day before. I told myself to wake up at 0300. We were camped a few blocks away at Sonny’s RV Park. I enjoyed brisk walk over to Snow’s. I arrived at 0310 and I was 18th in line. I was feeling good about my decision to wake up early and get in line. At 0630 192 people were in line.

At 0730 the doors opened and I had a full plate of BBQ for breakfast. I am not sure how many people were in line by opening but I think it was about double what I counted at 0630.
