Grand Junction

We traveled the 134 down from Flaming Gorge Dam, the road was rough in a few places but good sight seeing. We had a Harvest Host scheduled for the night. Donna needed to get her eyes checked due to an abrasion that happened while we were at Lewis & Clark state park. Follow up was positive and our resupply errands began. A few trips to Walmart for dog prescriptions and provisions had us traveling around Grand Junction. The city has a strange naming conventions for streets. If on main street, that same street will have different names if you are headed North or South. PDF linked for reference. All the services we desired were in Grand Junction, they were also close together. We did not find any good coffee.

Harvest Host

We stayed at a road side farm/grocery Blaine’s Farm Store. The grounds were beautiful with a wonderful couple acre farm, fresh vegetables were available, acquired some lovely tomatos and greens. The location was awesome as it was a few miles from the ophthalmologist and 10 or so miles from the city center. Taking the I70 business loop into town was easy. We bought what we could from the farm stand and acquired the rest of our stables in town. Our next stop is one of our favorite places Matterhorn Campground outside Telluride.

Minny and Doowee

Doowee dislikes provisioning trips as it’s much time spent in the truck. Although a good boy on these trips he would rather be doing anything else. Minny is a good sister and puts up with his antics and is always happy to go on errands.
