El Chorro state park SLO Botanical Gardens

Location

This had to be one of my favorite state parks. We were originally slotted to be here with a rally. However all the attendees from the GLAAC club cancelled a few weeks before the event. Donna and I had planned to be on the road so we kept our reservation. When we arrived at the park, all the spaces for the rally members were still reserved. I advised the park staff that the 30 or so expected airstreams were not going to be in attendance. Apparently, the parks service didn’t notify the park about the cancellation. The park filled up quickly once the sites we had reserved were available.

Notes

Services

The RV park was awesome, wide spaces with mostly plenty of room to spread out. Our site was on the end and we had a large family come and encircle us with the four spots around us. The botanical gardens were a delight, we joined the botanical society. The Dog park a short walking distance from our site is the largest dog park I had ever seen. The park, botanical gardens and hiking trails were a joy, everything was easy to get to with a quaint feel. The park seemed to have good security and natural barrier from the Cabrillo Freeway.

Some trees in the way, however the flag pole I modified for raising the starlink worked perfectly.
