Lodi, California many wineries awesome cycling
We have maintained a Harvest Host membership for two years, this was our first time using it. I asked Donna if we could use the membership on this round of travels, we found this gem on our first try. The location is a wonderful winery (Jessie’s Grove) in Lodi, a few miles off Interstate 5. The cycling was awesome, access to the grounds to walk the dogs was great. We also learned they have the some of the oldest Zinfandel vines in the state. The tasting room and sitting areas were beautiful and dog friendly. They had lovely flowers for sale in the tasting room. We bought some wine, enjoyed a tasting, and the grounds.
The only downside was that due to over production of wine grapes, many vineyards are burning their vines. The burning made for pretty sunsets, however soot and ash were a constant. Donna and I both left with scratchy throats.
The trailer accommodations were awesome, a large field that is easy to get in and out of was situated along vineyards and an irrigation ditch. Trees provided shade and parking was abundant.
