Rosebowl 2023 Urban Camping National Rally
I am not posting the location of the rally here. I think that the rally organizers would appreciate the responsibility of telling you where the site is. The site is a wonderful location that is a few blocks from the parade route. The organizers are professionals at staging and getting everybody settled.
I enjoyed the organization and communication from the team. Parking and staging was a breeze, everybody worked together to get settled in a cozy parking lot.
Location
The rose bowl parade is a urban rally, it is dry camping. Come with your water tanks full and waste tanks empty. The intent of the rally is to enjoy the Pasadena area at the height of its tourist season, The Rose Bowl. The rally is put on by Airstream Club International. The rally is dog friendly and so is most of Pasadena.
We had fun walking about the city, finding restaurants, fun neighborhoods to walk through. A good time was had by all.

Pre-parade float viewing
Once parked, we got setup in camp and hit a few attractions. We had purchased tickets for float viewing on our first day. We had to hustle to get over to the viewing area.
Such a cool experience walking through the area. Many people and organic material in motion. All ages were working on the floats. Plants of all type visible everywhere, plant material entering blenders and being put on tray for spreading. The amount of hours put into the decoration is massive. Surprising to me the majority of people working on the floats appeared to be volunteers.
It was pleasure seeing the community which is float decorating. I was also surprised to return a few hours later and the next day to see the massive amount of progress that was made.
Our tickets were for viewing only, I believe you can sign up/volunteer to decorate the floats. I was informed that the sign-up fills fast and often a month or more prior to the decorating day.
Band Fest
It was raining during our bandfest viewing. The rain did not deter us or the Bands from showing their skills. If visiting Pasadena having gear that make you comfortable in rain is highly suggested. We had ponchos and umbrellas with water proof shoes, we were comfortable.
The experience at bandfest left me wanting more, I was more excited for the parade. The LA Unified band presence is massive, high energy, and skilled. I enjoyed everything about the whole experience.
Starlink
Starlink worked well, no real obstructions, having a pole mount was helpful since we were in an urban setting.
