Patagonia
This was our first AZ club rally, a last minute trip that was rewarding. AZ Airstream club put this event on. The area has wonderful bike riding, bird viewing, and hiking. The AZ Airstream club was a fun and welcoming group. We had ourselves on the wait list for multiple month. I had wanted to visit Patagonia for some time since reading about Lael Wilcox was showcasing riding in the area.
When I first saw the announcement in February I advised Donna I wanted to attend. The event was scheduled for November 2nd. We dragged our feet on registering and were added to the wait list. Middle of October we were itching for a trip and had discussed a few options, AZ included and were mentally prepared to get on the road for a few weeks. October 30th we received email notifying that a cancellation site was available if we still wanted to attend.
The short notice had us prepare for a immediate departure. Short notice and quick departure is what we aspire to. We left Santa Monica Wednesday evening ~2145 PST and headed toward AZ with 580 Miles to travel. We slept in a rest stop after a few hours of driving, then kicked the tires and got moving around 0800 arriving in Patagonia at 1540 MST.
After a quick setup and leveling session we were greeted by AZ rally members and immediately got acquainted with the group. The group of people were fun, outgoing, and cordial.
I got the opportunity to cook for the whole group and had a great time doing it. Donna and I got many good walks in, I attended a birding walk with a ranger.
This was a great trip that exercised our quick turn around time. We decided to leave on a Tuesday and were 580 miles away by Thursday.

The park had water and power at each site. We used our 28G tote for dropping grey water off at the dump that was inside the park. The site took some extra time to get level, however we were situated on the back side of the lack. Our view was awesome and made having the hatch open a joy. The skunks at this park were aggressive and curious, we often had skunks arrive at the campsite or large gatherings of people as if they were invited. As an additional point, often wafts of smells from what we assume was skunk urine were present in the air.
Starlink
Starlink worked here well when extended on a flag pole. Tree cover would be in the way if using a ground mount.
Hookups
Water and power only.
