Discount Tire / Americas Tire
Every set of tires I have ever owned purchased from Discount Tire
May 2024
My experiences with Discount Tire (DT) have always been great. Granted I have never used another service/provider, I have never felt the need to shop around.
The tires and service I get from them have always performed well. I know that I can go to a store (in all the states I travel) and get my tires rotated, or pressure checked and filled. Scheduling an appointment is easy and having one gets me in and out as fast as possible.
Every once in a while I have a experience that requires me to check and ask the staff fix. Due to these experiences I recommend that everybody carry a analog tire gauge. Double check work performed before you pull away. If you have a newish vehicle, it may have a tire monitor system (TMS). I have noticed that DT employees will often expect you to drive away and the TMS to reset to recognize the new pressure or new tire location. Driving away is likely fine in 99% of the cases. I have run into a few occasions where I now feel the need to double verify their work,
I suggest you do the same. Carry a physical tire pressure gauge, having one will prevent the annoyance of returning to the shop to ask for changes.
I have also started carrying a depth gauge so that I can track my tire wear. I have always been under the impressions DT would advise me of concerning wear patterns at tire rotations. I have now started an gsheet that has date and tire depth for each tire.
